![]() MILSPRAY has leveraged its years of experience working with the military and has developed a state-of-the-art, best of the best, authentic military coating suitable for military vehicle restoration. Historically, cheap enamels and lacquers have been the only available option to the military vehicle owner. These paints are inexpensive but perform poorly. They fade, offer little durability, and are inferior to true military-grade paints. Historically, the best, most durable coatings have been two part polyurethanes. These are the same paints used by the high-end automotive body shops. Typically, they are available in high gloss colors only and are not suitable for the military vehicle enthusiast. Authentic military vehicle finishes are "dead flat". This is measured in gloss units and is defined as having less than 5 gloss units. The average automotive coating is 85 gloss units or higher when clear coated. MILSPRAY has developed a single component, water-dispersible, polyurethane military coating. We use the same coating technology found in our MIL-DTL-64159, Type III, water-dispersible CARC coating, but remove the "B", or part 2 component. The material is non-hazardous, requires no solvents or thinning, and can be used right out of the can. The same IR reflective signature management aspects found in CARC are present in our single-component, military coating. IR signature management is the latest in stealth coating technology. This material reduces the IR signature of a vehicle and affords it the ability to blend into its operating environment when viewed through night vision or in the IR spectrum.
Like all high performance military coatings, this material should be handled with care. A respirator containing organic vapor cartridges, eye protection, and disposable gloves should be used. Since the material utilizes water dispersible technology, it contains less VOCs than the most commonly used camouflage enamels. When the coating is wet it cleans up with just water; when semi-dry, with rubbing alcohol; and when dry or cured it requires solvent to remove. This material offers the ultimate in durability, mar resistance, color stability and authenticity. It is intended for the serious military vehicle restoration project and is available only from MILSPRAY. Repairing dents, dings & scratches that may occur in the future is an easy task. Since the material is dead flat and is a one component formula, touch-up can be performed utilizing our aerosol products, which contain the same material. For the best finish quality it is strongly suggested that you use our HVLP spray gun that offers a superior finish with more control. MILSPRAY offers two primers - both compatible with the single component topcoat. The first is an innovative corrosion arrestor for use on steel. This is a corrosion converter that will convert and encapsulate rust. It is ideally suited for those tough to reach, corrosion-prone areas. It is single component, non-hazardous and water-based. The second is a water-based, rust inhibiting, epoxy primer. This is a two-part epoxy primer and requires mixing component "A" and component "B" prior to using. This is MIL-SPEC 53030 material and is used by the U.S. Military as a CARC primer. MILSPRAY's single component, water dispersible, polyurethane top coat is high solids and contains high concentration of pigments. The material is not diluted or watered down with solvents or fillers. This translates into a single coat application and more coverage per gallon than any other commercially available camouflage paint. 1 gallon of material would be sufficient to paint one Humvee-size vehicle. Fed-Std 595B Aerosol
MILSPRAY's Fed-Std-595B non-CARC Aerosols were developed to provide an exact and precise match to today's true military camouflage colors. Commercially available aerosol paints do not provide a match to the federal standard and are often diluted with inexpensive solvents. MILSPRAY's Fed-Std-595B aerosols are concentrated, heavily pigmented and provide military-grade wear, chip and mar resistance, and are well suited for exterior applications as they contain an additive that provides for superior UV resistance. They may be applied to any metal surface that has been previously painted, or over our gray aerosol primer. This product is exceptional for touching up nicks, scratches and blemishes that occur during the assembly phases of product manufacturing. THIS IS NOT CARC MATERIAL. Fed-Std 595B Markers
MILSPRAY's Fed-Std-595B non-CARC Markers were developed to provide an exact and precise match to today’s true military camouflage colors. They are concentrated, heavily pigmented and provide military-grade wear, chip and mar resistance, and are well suited for exterior applications. They may be applied to any metal surface that has been previously painted. MILSPRAY’s unique design has both a chisel and blunt marker point. For fine scratches use the chisel edge - for wider scrapes and scratches use the blunt, wider edge of the marker. Material is safely dispensed by pressing down on the spring-loaded tip. Raise the pen and the valve closes, shutting off the flow of material to the work surface. This product is exceptional for touching up nicks and scratches that occur during the assembly phases of product manufacturing. MILSPRAY markers are used the world over and can ship unrestricted via any mode of transportation. THIS IS NOT CARC MATERIAL. |
